Hey Everybody

I've started this Blog page because I'm trying to get the word out about Jesus and about how I believe we as Christians should live. I do not mean to tick people off so all I'm asking is for you to search the scriptures and determine for yourself how you are supposed to live. Thanks for reading,
Love in Christ,
Mickey

5 Weeks Later

I haven't posted of this blog in over 5 weeks but the good news is that I'm still walking with God! I guess I just didn't see fruit from this but someone on an iPad forum just encouraged me to continue so here goes.

I became a grandpa yesterday and her name is Railey Anne! She is precious and it's gonna be fun being in her life. As we were traveling to the hospital yesterday for her birth, I was thinking to myself about the blend or mixture of spoiling her and also humbling her! As her grandpa and as a Christian I've got to plan to spoil and to teach. I believe most kids today, actually people in general, believe that life is all about them. Maybe they don't actually believe that but they do live it!

So I sure want Railey to know she is special and wonderful but I also want her to know that she is those things and more because of what Jesus has done and is doing for her. I know her mom and dad will do great with that and her church as well but the world will tell her over and over that it's all about her, her feelings, and what she wants so as grandparents I plan to bring Jesus into the picture early and often!

How about you and I? Is life all about us? Our, wants and desires? If you're like me that's really a struggle and we've been comforted and pampered for so long that we're living the EASY Christian life. The problem is that Jesus said there was no such thing. He said that since He was persecuted we could count on being persecuted as well. Are we being persecuted? If not why not?

Awesome Promise

God gives us an awesome promise in Philippians 1:6.

Philippians 1:6
6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

What's so cool about this verse to me is that God doesn't give up! God isn't a quitter, if He starts something (our salvation) He completes it (our sanctification). God won't leave me in my lazy Christian walk, He keeps drawing me to Him. It's up to you and me to not allow our hearts to become so calloused that God decides to take us home. God has great plans for us so let's open our hearts and minds to His Word and His direction.

Follow Up

Ok so it's been 2 days since my conviction post. There have been no comments and only 1 person has thanked me for the post. But that's ok cause it's not about me. I'm just trying to be honest about a huge problem.

What's the problem? Well the problem is having millions of people claiming to be Christians who live no differently than those who are not Christians! When people look at your life or mine do they see a difference that Jesus is making in you that they desire? Or do they see your actions and mine as no different than theirs?

I really want people to desire the Jesus that I know. So I'm convinced that for that to happen then I must start living how the Bible has called me to live.

Galatians 2:20
20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

I have to put my selfishness on the back burner and look for ways to minister to all those around me. These things will not happen due to me being a good person, cause I'm not. They will only happen as I let Jesus live thru me. This is why reading the Bible, praying, and going to church are so necessary.

In the past 2 days I have had to close the Internet and turn off the TV and force myself to read some scripture and talk to God in prayer. This may be easy for you, praise God, cause it's not always easy for me. But this is a necessary step for me that I'm committed to take. What about you? Are you like me tired of playing CHURCH games? Going to church week after week and not really experiencing spiritual growth because of it. What are you gonna do to make a change?

Me & Maybe You

I was in sunday school today and on a scale of 1-10 with 1 being saved but not living for Jesus at all and 10 being totally sold out to Him on an every day basis, we discovered that everyone in the class was between a 3 and a 6. I'm the teacher so I called out a 7. We then determined that 1-2 is cold, 3-7 is lukewarm, & 8-10 is hot or pretty close anyway.

Revelation 3:16 says: So because you are lukewarm; neither hot nor cold; I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

These are red letters and was said by Jesus. And in verse 15 Jesus says that He wishes that we were either hot or cold! That doesn't make a lot of sense to us but basically He is saying that He is sick and tired of us Christians playing church games.

I'm tired of it in my life too and I'm convicted by the Holy Spirit to change my life and any others who are willing to change as well. So what about you? Are you ready to grow in Christ and be on fire for Him or are you comfortable being lukewarm?

Feel free to leave a post but try not to bash just to be a hater and don't be shocked at what some post here as this will probably receive worldly viewpoints.
